Report: Turkish police foil plot against Erdogan

Turkish police detained five people suspected of planning to attack Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the state-run news agency reported Monday. The Anatolia news agency said the five were detained in the southern city of Adana, just before Erdogan traveled there on Saturday for an election campaign rally. The agency said the suspects, which include a woman, were questioned by anti-terrorism police before being taken to a court to face possible charges. The agency did not cite a source for its report and police in the city would not comment. Details on the alleged plot were not immediately available.
