Russian fighter jet crashes, pilot die

Russia's air force said on Friday that one of its fighter jets had crashed in Siberia, and that the pilot was killed in the accident. Air force spokesman Lt.-Col. Vladimir Drik said that the MiG-29 fighter jet crashed in the Chita region in south Siberia during a training flight. He said that there was no damage on the ground. Drik said that the air force had grounded its MiG-29s until an official panel determined the cause of the crash.
