Russia's air force said on Friday that one of its fighter jets had crashed in Siberia, and that the pilot was killed in the accident.
Air force spokesman Lt.-Col. Vladimir Drik said that the MiG-29 fighter jet crashed in the Chita region in south Siberia during a training flight. He said that there was no damage on the ground.
Drik said that the air force had grounded its MiG-29s until an official panel determined the cause of the crash.
