Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora announced on Tuesday that he would ask Germany to send troops to the UN multinational force in Lebanon, Israel Radio reported.
Saniora told German Chancellor Angela Merkel in a phone conversation Monday night that Lebanese officials were drafting a formal request to the UN on the subject.
