State Department still views Hamas as terrorists

US State Department Spokesman Sean McCormack asserted on Wednesday that the United States did not change its stance on the Hamas, and still viewed it as a "terrorist organization and not a body that can be negotiated with." He noted that the State Department did not see anything new in Hamas's recent statements about the possibility of maintaining contact with Israel.
