Student wounded in weekend bombing in Nepal dies; toll reaches 3

The death toll in three near-simultaneous bombings in Nepal's capital rose Wednesday to three after a wounded high school student succumbed to her injuries, police said. Twenty people were also hurt in the blasts Sunday. Sandhya Khadka died overnight at a hospital in Katmandu, where she was being treated for wounds sustained in one of the blasts, police said. Three little-known groups pushing for more autonomy in the Himalayan country's restive south have claimed responsibility for the attacks. Police detained at least eight people, but have yet to say if any are suspects.
