Turkey captures 11 Al-Qaida militants in Istanbul

Turkish police on Wednesday captured 11 suspected al-Qaida militants, who were allegedly planning to stage terrorist attacks in Istanbul, police said. Police did not provide any details about the identity of the suspected Islamic militants or their target. Local Islamic militants tied to al-Qaida killed 58 people in 2003 when they targeted two synagogues, the British consulate and a London-based bank in Istanbul.
