UN nuclear monitors returned Friday from a trip to North Korea's plutonium-producing reactor, saying the facility has not been shut down yet but that they were satisfied with their visit there, a news report said.
The team returned to Pyongyang from the Yongbyon reactor complex, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) northeast of the North Korean capital, Kyodo News agency reported from the city.
The team, led by International Atomic Energy Agency Deputy Director Olli Heinonen, said they were satisfied with the visit and found that the reactor was still operating, the report said.
"We were able to see all of the places we wanted to see. I'm satisfied with the visit," Kyodo quoted Heinonen as saying.
