US paper gives FBI Goldman Sachs threat letter

A Tennessee newspaper is cooperating with authorities and has given the FBI a letter it received that threatened New York investment firm Goldman Sachs. The Knoxville News Sentinel turned over its copy of the anonymous letter to authorities, but it will not force editors or reporters who might have touched the note to provide fingerprints. "We certainly want to support the investigation, but on the issue of fingerprints, it's between those individuals and the authorities to decide how that should be handled," Jack McElroy, the paper's editor, wrote in Wednesday's editions. At least 31 papers received a copy of the letter in early July. "Hundreds will die. We are inside. You cannot stop us," the letter said.
