Venezuela: US waging propaganda war against Iran

The United States is leading a war of propaganda to portray Iran as a threat to peace, Venezuela's top diplomat said Tuesday. Foreign Minister Ali Rodriguez said in an interview on state television that Washington was behind "the intense propaganda portraying (Iran) as a dark beast." Twenty-seven of the 35 members of the International Atomic Energy Agency voted in January to refer Iran to the Security Council over the issue. Venezuela, Cuba and Syria were the only nations to vote against the resolution, with five others abstaining. "In our case, it's a position of principles," Rodriguez said of Venezuela's vote.
