Peres: Iran's strength is world's weakness

"The main strength of Iran is the weakness of the international community," Vice Premier Shimon Peres said on Sunday morning. Israel Radio quoted Peres as saying that if the international community cooperates, there will be no need to go to war with Iran. At a Saban Center conference in Washington, the vice premier claimed that there were "more possibilities in dealing with Iran than people think." Regarding Syria, Peres said it was not really prepared to negotiate with Israel but just wanted to conduct talks "so that Israel will open doors for it to Washington." "Damascus cannot pay the price demanded of it," said Peres, which he said was: "To remove the terrorist headquarters in Damascus, to stop aid to Hizbullah and a readiness to conduct real negotiations wit Israel."
