Peres to Chinese FM: China has 'central role' in preventing Iranian nuke

China has a "central role" in preventing Iran's drive to obtain nuclear weapons, President Shimon Peres said Thursday in a meeting with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi. Besides the Iranian nuclear issue the two also discussed the Middle East peace process and the expanding of business and technology ties between the two countries, a statement from Beit Hanassi said. Alluding to Holocaust-denying remarks made by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahamdinejad in a UN racism conference address earlier this week, Jeichi said that it was "clear" to his country that "the Holocaust of the Jews is an undeniable and unassailable fact."
