US official: Third UN resolution on Iran nearer with China's cooperation

A senior US official said Monday international talks on a third UN resolution on Iran have moved "a step forward" with China's cooperation.
Iran has already been hit by two sets of sanctions in an attempt to bring the Islamic republic to halt its nuclear program.
Until now, the main obstacles to a third set of sanctions have been Russia and China.
A recent report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) prompted Russia and China to soften their stance.
