The US ambassador to the United Nations said the new US administration will seek to end Iran's nuclear ambition and its support for terrorism.
Susan Rice's comments at the end of an open meeting of the UN Security Council on Iraq on Thursday drew an immediate rebuke from Iran's UN ambassador.
Mohammad Khazee said in a statement that Iran will never try to acquire nuclear weapons and called the allegation that the country engages in terrorism "baseless and absurd."
