In the sixth stage of the hostage deal, Liat Atzili returned from captivity, thinking that her husband Aviv, a 49-year-old farmer and garage manager, remained a prisoner of Hamas.

However, on Thursday the family of Atzili was informed of his death in Nir Oz during the Hamas attacks on October 7.

Died fighting on October 7

On October 7, he went out to fight alongside the emergency standby squad against terrorists - and now it's revealed that he was killed during the fighting.

In the sixth round of the deal, 12 hostages, including 7 women and 5 children, were released from Hamas captivity.

Another two hostages of Russian origin were released outside of the ceasefire deal as a "sign of appreciation for Putin".
