An IDF soldier was moderately wounded during operations in the southern Gaza Strip, the military announced on Friday afternoon.
The soldier’s family was notified, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Later, IDF troops identified a terrorist in the Yellow Line area, approaching Israeli troops and posing an immediate threat.
Shortly after the identification, the Israeli Air Force struck and killed the terrorist.
IDF strikes against continuous terror attempts in Gaza
Over the course of the past week, the IDF carried out multiple strikes targeting Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists involved in ceasefire-violating terror operations.
On Wednesday, Israeli forces similarly killed a Hamas terrorist identified as preparing a sniper-style attack on Israeli troops stationed in northern Gaza, as well as two other terrorists spotted crossing the Yellow Line into Israeli-controlled territory.
On Monday, two separate instances of Hamas attempts at breaching the Yellow Line resulted in the IDF killing of three terrorists.
According to an N12 News report on Thursday, Israel submitted a proposal offering a deal to Hamas terrorists still hiding in tunnels underneath Gaza if they surrender and hand themselves over to Israeli forces.
The proposal, reportedly submitted to Hamas via intermediaries, would see terrorists imprisoned rather than killed. The terrorists may also be offered the opportunity to eventually return to Gaza following arrest if they promise to cease engagement in terror activity and disarm.
According to the report, mediators had conveyed the message to Hamas terrorists, but Israel has not yet received a response.
