Bennett: Strong political forces from the Left joined to hurt Shaked

Education Minister and Chairman of the New Right Naftali Bennett defended Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked against what he called "strong political forces from the left.""In the past few days, strong political forces from the left joined to hurt Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, because they recognized that she was the only one who had the courage to change the legal system," said Bennett on Sunday."We will not stop this change, we will see to it that Ayelet continues to serve for another four years in order to complete the judicial revolution," he added.Bennett's statements came in the wake of numerous attacks against Shaked, following the revelation of the scandal surrounding Israeli Bar Association head Efi Naveh, who allegedly traded sexual favors for judicial appointments.The police arrested Nave, a magistrate’s court judge and the wife of another magistrate’s court judge on Wednesday under suspicion of involvement in a scheme of sexual favors for judicial appointments."Shaked made wise alliances and appointed 334 judges who faithfully reflect all parts of Israeli society. The attack against Ayelet Shaked only reinforces one thing — we will not stop this change," said Bennett.Sara Rubinstein contributed to this story.
