Four suspects were arrested on Thursday for dealing and illegally growing cannabis in the North.
Police seized more than a thousand cannabis plants, as well as equipment, taking more than 160 kg. of the substances.
The suspects, ages 32 to 49, appeared before a judge, and all four will remain under arrest until February 4. The police said it will continue to prevent illegal drugs from being grown, sold or distributed.
The discovery of the cannabis comes days after the government approved the international distribution of Israeli-grown medical marijuana. Israel is known worldwide for its cannabis cultivation in the legal medical field, and the recent approval is expected to make a significant contribution to the local economy.
