FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23

Enjoy Inner Skin at the Mamuta Art and Research Center at Hansen House. Curated by Dveer Shaked, the works by Gil Yefman were inspired by the medical history of the exhibition space and combine knitted soft sculptures, sound, and video art.

Hansen House was established in 1887 as the Jesu-Hilfe (Jesus Help) leprosy hospital; visitors to the exhibit here will activate the sound that accompanies the works, making each viewing unique.

The dance will be followed by two hours of folk music by The Unstrung Heroes, led by Mark Clarfield and Ora Paltiel-Clarfield, Sandy Cash, and David Mencher.

This is a charity event held in solidarity with the progressive Jewish community during a difficult time. Readers might recall Harry Smith’s 1952 Anthology of American Folk Music, commissioned by Moses Asch, and its massive contribution in opening US musical culture.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25
