Retired police officer Miki (Michael) Goldman, aged 98, addressed the police force in Israel, expressing his solidarity and urging them to stay strong amidst the ongoing battle for the State of Israel.
Born in 1925, as a young man Goldman survived Auschwitz.
"My dear sisters and brothers police officers, as a former policeman myself and a Jew who endured the horrors of the Holocaust, I couldn't help but relive those painful memories," he said. "I pray for your safety and well-being. Stay strong, and know that you are the true heroes!"
A warrior against Nazis
Goldman served in the police force for many years, and during his tenure, he was part of the iconic Bureau 06 unit responsible for investigating Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann.
