An unmanned IAF drone fell in Iran after it was targeted by a surface-to-air missile during operational activity, the IDF said on Tuesday. No injuries were reported, and there is no concern of an information leak.
The drone incident occurred amid a series of Israeli airstrikes more than 1,500 kilometers from Israel. These operations aim to secure air superiority by targeting Iran’s air defense systems and missile network infrastructure.
The IDF said the campaign includes carefully coordinated waves of strikes, intended to disable every launcher capable of firing at Israel.
“Air superiority requires initiative and offensive action,” a senior Air Force officer said. “We’re aware of the operational costs, and they were accounted for in our planning.”
So far, the IAF has destroyed more than 70 surface-to-air missile batteries. The IDF concluded by saying that the drone incident has been investigated, and lessons will be integrated into future operations.
This is a developing story.
