IDF special forces arrested a terror cell operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force in southern Syria, the military said on Monday.
Following investigations by the IDF's Unit 504, soldiers from the Alexandroni Brigade, under the command of the 210th Division, completed a nighttime operation to arrest the terror cell operated by Iran's Quds Force in the Tel Kudne area in southern Syria, the IDF stated.
This marks the second time in the past week that the military arrested several Iranian operatives who posed a threat in the area.
Recent earlier arrests of terror cells
The IDF's Unit 504 had also arrested Iranian terror cell members days earlier, also operating in southern Syria, following receiving special intelligence from the interrogations of other Syrian operatives.
The operation last Wednesday also saw the IDF locating weapons in the areas where the terrorists were arrested, including several firearms and grenades.
The Jerusalem Post disclosed in January that the unit, which is the military’s human spying version of the Mossad, has been vital in unmasking Hamas’s abuse of hospitals for a variety of terrorist and military purposes.
