An IDF soldier was seriously injured earlier on Tuesday after apparently suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
It remains unclear if the event was an attempted suicide or an accident.
The soldier, who is a recruit in the IDF's Paratroopers Brigade on the brigade's training base in the south of Israel, was evacuated to Soroka Medical Center, Beersheba, for medical treatment, and his family was notified.
Military Police have opened an investigation into the incident.
