Over the past day, the Israel Air Force struck more than 170 targets throughout the Gaza Strip, including terrorists, military structures, weapons storage facilities, and terror infrastructure sites, the Israel Defense Forces said on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Israeli troops continued dismantling terrorist infrastructure and eliminating terrorists in Gaza City, Hamas’s last stronghold. Additionally, several terrorist infrastructure sites that were used for ambushes against soldiers were struck, along with additional weapons storage facilities.
On Wednesday, IDF soldiers identified and killed a terrorist armed with an explosive device attempting to carry out an imminent attack.
IDF activity in northern Gaza
In the northern Gaza Strip, troops dismantled above-ground and below-ground terrorist infrastructure, including an ambush post where an explosive device was found.
In the southern Gaza Strip, soldiers eliminated several terrorists who approached the soldiers and posed an immediate threat.
Etzioni Brigade conduct counterterror operations, destroy terror tunnels
Soldiers from the IDF's 6th Reserves Brigade, also known as the Etzioni Brigade, conducted counterterrorism operations in the Rafah area in the southern Gaza Strip over recent weeks, the military announced on Thursday.
This included killing "dozens" of terrorists, and dismantling terror infrastructure above and below ground.
After completing their operation in Rafah, the brigade moved to conduct operations in Khan Yunis, where they struck and dismantled observation posts, additional terror infrastructure, and killed "dozens" more terrorists, the military added.
Approximately 1,200 people were killed, and 252 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7, 2023. Of the 48 remaining hostages, about 20 are believed to be alive.
