Following the killing earlier this week of the terrorist who murdered Israeli security guard Gideon Perry last year, there are no Palestinian fugitives who murdered Israelis left walking free in the West Bank.

“I don’t recall the last time we were in a situation where all the fugitive murderers had been either arrested or eliminated,” IDF Central Command Chief Maj.-Gen. Avi Bluth told N12's Chief Political Analyst Amit Segal.

Following Segal’s report, The Jerusalem Post independently verified this claim.

On Tuesday, the IDF said the terrorist behind Perry’s murder, Sultan al-Ghani, was killed by security forces near Jenin that day. The 38-year-old Perry was killed in August 2024 during a West Bank attack that concluded with Ghani stealing his firearm and vehicle before making his escape.

Ghani’s West Bank home demolished

Earlier this year, Israeli forces demolished Ghani’s home in the Bar-On industrial zone near Kedumim in the West Bank. Clearing the West Bank of terrorists with Israeli blood on their hands comes after days of heightened Israeli security activity in the region.

On Wednesday, the IDF, Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), and Border Police began conducting a “broad counterterrorism operation” in the northern West Bank.

Additionally, the day before Ghani was killed, security forces killed Ala Raouf Shetiyya, the terrorist responsible for the 2024 deaths of IDF Kfir Brigade soldiers St.-Sgt. Eliya Hilel and St.-Sgt. Diego Shvisha Harsaj.

Further, last week, Israeli forces arrested over 60 wanted individuals across the West Bank during a series of raids targeting terror cells and weapons trafficking hubs. Among those arrested were 18 Hamas operatives.
