IDF issued a statement on Friday ahead of Shabbat assuring the Israeli public that it is prepared for a wide range of defense measures in light of recent regional tensions, primarily the increase in protests in Iran, and remains on high alert.

The IDF Spokesperson, BG Effie Defrin, emphasized the importance of every Israeli citizen being aware that the IDF is prepared and ready at all times, equipped with a wide range of capabilities

“We are operating at peak readiness for a wide range of scenarios," Defrin wrote.

Defrin stated that the IDF is closely monitoring developments in the region and is conducting continuous situational assessments in coordination with all relevant bodies.

“Our responsibility in the IDF is to manage the situation in a measured, professional, and responsible manner,” the statement read.

Israel feels increasingly uncertain in the face of potential renewed conflict

He also acknowledged the increasing uncertainty among the public, as many unanswered questions persist regarding an escalation of regional conflict.

“We fully understand the sense of uncertainty and alertness that has emerged in recent days, as public and media discussions center on regional developments. This reaction is natural and entirely understandable.”

The statement concluded by advising the public not to rely on rumors, but rather to trust announcements from the IDF Spokesperson and official channels. It clarified that, at this time, there are no changes to the guidelines issued by the Home Front Command.

"We will continue to act responsibly and with sound judgment. I will be here, and we will update the public when there is a genuine need to do so."
