The IDF, guided by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), apprehended an aide to the terrorist who committed a shooting attack on January 6, 2025, a spokesperson announced on Friday.

The shooting took place in Al-Funduq, where three Israelis were murdered and another eight were wounded.

The accomplice, Muhammad Zidan, was captured in Jenin, where he had previously been a senior figure in a terrorist network and was involved in financing and advancing acts of terror in Israel.

Two terrorists were also identified in Gaza on Thursday entering a building on Israel’s side of the Yellow Line, in violation of the ongoing ceasefire agreement, an IDF spokesperson said.

IDF eliminates Hezbollah terrorist

The terrorists were targeted by the Israel Air Force, which successfully struck them.

Southern Command IDF forces are scattered throughout the region and will continue to enforce the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, the spokesperson added.

The military also targeted and successfully killed a Hezbollah terrorist in southern Lebanon on Thursday, the IDF stated.

According to the IDF, the terrorist was attempting to reestablish Hezbollah infrastructure in the At-Tiri area of southern Lebanon, in violation of Israel’s ceasefire understanding with Lebanon.

IDF counterterrorism summary 

The IDF additionally released a weekly counterterrorism summary regarding operations carried out in the Central Command on Saturday.

Jordan Valley Regional Brigade troops searched approximately 70 locations during operations in the Jericho area, leading to the apprehension of three terrorists, according to the release.

An additional 30 terrorists were apprehended by the Samaria Regional Brigade this past week. Military equipment, M-16 rifles, and parts used in the assembly of explosive devices were uncovered inside shops in Balata in Nablus, the IDF stated, noting that the equipment and materials were confiscated.

The Judea Regional Brigade, in collaboration with the Israel Police’s Judea and Samaria District, similarly confiscated machines used for the manufacturing of weapons, weapons parts, ammunition, an M-16 rifle, and three million shekels, according to the IDF.

More rifles, military equipment, and tens of thousands of shekels were additionally confiscated by the Menashe Regional Brigade during an operation in which troops apprehended wanted individuals with Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad affiliations. During that operation, troops also uncovered items bearing the logo of the Islamic State terrorist organization.
