The IDF discovered weapons and explosives in a West Bank school, which belonged to terrorists who attacked an Israeli settlement weeks ago, the IDF announced Monday.

According to the statement, about two weeks ago two, terrorists threw explosives and Molotov Cocktails at the West Bank settlement of Karmei Tzur. No one was injured as a result.

Following the attack, IDF soldiers apprehended the attackers, who were further transferred for further questioning by the [Shin Bet].

The IDF said that after interrogation, the suspects revealed the location of an explosives cache to be in a school in Beit Ummar, a town just kilometers north of Karmei Tzur.

A video released by the IDF shows members of the Kfir Brigade’s Nachshon Battalion at the school next to the cache, and a clip from above showing its detonation.

No damage was done to the school

According to the statement, no damage was done to the school during the dismantling of the explosives. Further, the statement condemned the use of schools for terrorist activity and vowed to “continue to operate to thwart terrorism.”

Lying roughly between Hebron and Bethlehem in the Gush Etzion bloc, Karmei Tzur has often been subject to attacks from Palestinian terrorists. In February, the settlement was placed under lockdown after a suspected infiltration, and in November of 2025, security forces thwarted an imminent Molotov attack on the town.
