When elderly dogs are left without care, Hofshi steps up and gives them a home and plenty of TLC.

Hofshi [Hebrew for Free] is an old age home and chronic care center for dogs in Kfar Yehushua. It’s a free and openenvironment, without cages or kennels that provides a home for about 50 dogs that live there, with eldest being 20 years andcounting.Home of The Israeli Association for the Elderly Dog, Hofshi is a registered association founded by Kobi Brook. The elderly dogs that there were mainly owned by elderly people that couldn’t keep up with the dogs in their advanced age or because they themselves were too frail to treat them.The Hofshi home in Kfar Yehushua provides the dogs with dignity, companionship and company as well as love and care by the Brook family and the team of dedicated care givers that operate the place.Most of the dogs are over 12 years old and require constant care of washing up, wound treatment and support in standing, walking, eating and even urinating.Volunteer Hagar Meirson treats Lily a dog with a Now the Association is leading a fund-raising campaign to create an on-site treatment room for the dogs. At the moment all the dog treatments are being carried out on the deck in front of the Brook home. When needed, the dogs are transported to the veterinarian, an uncomfortable 15-minute ride.Hofshi is now in the final leg of the Headstart campaign for raising the moneys for the old dogs treatment room.
