With millions of Israelis due to hit the roads, as well as swim, hike and pursue other outdoors activities during the seven- day festival of Succot, which starts on Wednesday evening, Magen David Adom personnel are on high alert.
MDA ambulances, helicopters and other vehicles will be on duty round the clock during the festival to treat and evacuate people injured. In addition, MDA said it has built succa booths at some of its stations, where it will host soldiers, elderly people and others.
To encourage the building of the nicest succot by its staff and volunteers, it has organized a “Beautiful Succa” competition.
The first-aid, rescue and blood-supply organization reminded residents and visitors to donate blood during the intermediate days of the holiday to refill depleted stores.
Where to donate will be updated daily at http://mdais.org/dam. Information will also be available by calling 1-800-400-101.
