Yair Golan, chairman of the Democrats Party, announced on Tuesday that several leaders from the judicial and hostage protests movements will join his party in the upcoming elections.
Golan confirmed that the new party members will be Moshe Radman, Moran Michel, Danny Elgarat, Hadas Ragolsky, Gaby Lasky, Ami Dror, Lee Hoffman, Kati Piasecki, Rotem Sivan, and Tomer Avital.
The protest movement is "not just a passing trend," Golan said, and assured that it was "part of the backbone" of his party.
"The people who went out to the streets to fight for our home are joining us in the party," he added.
New protest figures enter Democrats Party
Michel and Dror are two of the main figures in the judicial reform protests. Michel, a social and political activist, worked to establish civil projects for aid and rehabilitation following October 7.
Dror is a high-tech entrepreneur, leadership expert, and social activist who founded and leads international education companies operating in dozens of countries, with millions of students worldwide.
Elgarat became one of the main figures in the hostage protests after his brother and brother-in-law were kidnapped on October 7 and killed in captivity in Gaza.
Hoffman is also one of the main figures in the protests demanding the return of the hostages, while leading movements that push for gender equality, education, and against the cost of living.
