U.N. Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nickolay E. Mladenov slammed Gaza rockets being fired on Israel in a Tweet released on Sunday.

“I condemn the continuing launching of rockets from Gaza,” he wrote, “Enough Palestinian and Israeli lives have been lost.”

He called for a return to the understandings of the past few months, “before it’s too late.”
US special envoy Jason D. Greenblatt also took to Twitter calling the actions of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad “deplorable” and said the US “stands firmly in support of Israel’s right to self-defense.”

He further claimed that by “choosing terrorism” the Palestinian factions in Gaza “prevent the world from trying to help the Palestinians.”
