53% of Israel's prisoners exercise right to vote

Voting has closed in Israel's prisons, and a total of 53 percent of the 9000 prisoners eligible to vote in the elections for the 17th Knesset exercised their right. One-quarter of the nation's prisoners refused to vote until they received an Israeli ID card, while another 20% refused to have an ID card processed for them so that they could vote, Israel Radio reported.
