Teachers of seventh and ninth grade pupils called a two-hour strike for Tuesday, the Secondary School Teachers Association announced Monday evening. Special education schools and Gaza-belt schools will not strike. The organization claimed that the Finance Ministry did not acquiesce to the teachers' demands for reforms including higher pay and a higher status for teachers. The teachers belonging to the Histadrut, over 90% of teachers in the seventh through ninth grades, will teach as usual. According to the Histadrut, there is no justification to strike prior to deliberations in the labor court, to be held on Wednesday. Last Wednesday, both teachers' organization held a strike in the 1st, 2nd, 11th and 12th grades.
