Supreme Court President Aharon Barak announced on Monday that he was not interested in being Israel's next president.
In his announcement, which he described as his "parting speech", Barak said he planned to dedicate the next few years to writing about human rights. "I have done everything I could for Israeli society", Barak said in The Israel Bar Association Convention in Eilat.
Barak also referred to the involvement of political institutions in electing supreme court judges, saying that there was a need to find a dialogue track between the two systems (political and judicial), which will enable both sides to make decisions, Army Radio reported
