'Al Hayat': IDF planning to kill Hamas leaders

The IDF is planning an extensive operation in the Gaza Strip to assassinate senior Hamas leaders, Al Hayat reported on Tuesday morning. The newspaper quoted Palestinian sources as saying that Israel had informed several Arab and European countries of the plot, urging them to remove their civilians from the Strip to avoid danger. Hamas estimated that the IDF would use Fatah men in Gaza to cause unrest and help Israel topple the Hamas leadership, Al Hayat said. Reportedly, in the operation, set for the end of July or the beginning of August, the IDF planned to kill Hamas leaders Ismail Haniyeh, Mahmoud Zahar, Said Siam and Halil el-Haya, as well as senior members of the group's military wing.
