A new anti-spam law will come into effect in Israel on Monday, 1 December.
As from tomorrow, it will be illegal to send messages with advertisements via e-mail, fax or cellular-phone text messages without the explicit consent of the recipient.
Anyone who receives such a message against their will, will be able to sue the sender and receive a compensation of up to NIS 1,000. The law also requires that e-mail advertisements have the word "advertisement" in their subject line.
