The condition of former prime minister Ariel Sharon improved on Tuesday morning, hospital officials announced.
Sharon was taken out of intensive care and moved to the respiratory rehabilitation department.
There was "noticeable improvement in his kidney function and the pneumonia in his lungs," Sheba Medical Center spokesman David Weinberg said.
His condition was still listed as serious.
