A 19-year-old border policeman killed his friend on Sunday evening after his personal weapon discharged accidentally in his Kafr Kanna home in the Lower Galilee. The deceased, a soldier on holiday, was in critical condition after being hit directly in the chest. Magen David Adom members alerted to the scene tried to resuscitate him but were forced to pronounce him dead. The incident reportedly occurred while the border policeman was unloading his M-16 rifle. According to a third person present at the time, the border policeman climbed upstairs to his bedroom and returned to the living room where his friends were sitting before he proceeded to unload his weapon. The policeman was being investigated by police and was set to be transferred to the Department for Police Investigations.
