Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says the US will work closely with any new Israeli government.
Clinton is in Jerusalem on her first Mideast visit as the top US diplomat. Her first statements came after a meeting with President Shimon Peres on Tuesday.
Clinton says the US will work with any government that "represents the democratic will of the people of Israel."
Clinton is set to meet prime minister-designate Binyamin Netanyahu later in the day.
