Derek Roth's fugitive murderer to be extradited from Argentina

Moshe Ben-Ivgi, the fugitive murderer of taxi driver Derek Roth, will be extradited to Israel from Argentina, an Argentinean federal court decided on Tuesday. However, Israel Radio reported, Ben-Ivgi's extradition would only pertain to a grocery store holdup he carried out during a furlough. The decision came due to the fact that Argentina's age of culpability is 16, while Ben-Ivgi committed the murder when he was only 14. Ben-Ivgi utilized a forged passport to flee to Argentina while out of prison on a weekend furlough. Ben-Ivgi and his friend Arbel Aloni hailed Roth's cab and shot him in the back of the head in a random killing in 1994. The two were convicted of murder and sentenced to 16 years in jail.
