Dichter: PA transfers NIS 4 billion to Hamas every year to pay salaries

Every year, the Palestinian Authority transfers up to NIS 4 billion to Hamas to help the group pay the salaries of 70,000 of its workers and security officers, Public Security Minister Avi Dichter told ministers during Sunday's cabinet meeting.
Later in the meeting, Dichter called on the government to plan a military operation which would end the continued Kassam rocket fire against Israel.
On a different issue, he praised the announcement of renewed peace talks between Syria and Israel as being "strategically important."
