Members of the public have been responding sharply online to MK Haneen Zoabi's (Balad) participation in the Free Gaza Flotilla and recent statements in the press castigating the actions of the IDF soldiers and the government.
A small market owner from central Israel was arrested by police for inciting an assassination of Zoabi, Channel 2 reported on Sunday.
The man allegedly posted on Facebook that he would give "free groceries for life to the person who who kills MK Haneen Zoabi."

Police opened an investigation regarding the comment and were seeking to determine whether it was made in jest or with the intent to harm the Knesset member.
The grocer's threat was not the only sign of public anger towards Zoabi's participation in the aid flotilla.
Organizers of the Facebook group set a goal of reaching 100,000 members and achieved their target in a matter of days.
Abraham Fund Initiative directors Amnon Be’eri-Sulitzeanu and Mohammad Darawshe said that the “growing extremism in rhetoric and the nature of the threats against Arab MKs in recent days expresses a serious assault in Israel’s democratic space and distances the chances of living together in coexistence and equality.”
