Former chief rabbi Eliyahu in serious but stable condition

The condition of former chief rabbi, Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu, was stabilizing Wednesday morning, but is still serious. About a month ago, Rabbi Eliyahu underwent bypass surgery at Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem. After the procedure, the rabbi came to the hospital daily in order to monitor his condition. On Tuesday, during such a visit, his condition abruptly worsened and he was taken to the intensive care unit. Dozens of family members and others were gathered outside the intensive care unit to pray for his health.
