Four people were killed and at least six people lightly to critically injured in four separate traffic accidents on Thursday and overnight Wednesday. Late Thursday afternoon, a pedestrian in her sixties was killed when she was hit by a car in Kiryat Yam. The woman was evacuated to Rambam Hospital, where she died of her wounds. Earlier, near Karnei Shomron, two Palestinians were killed, one Palestinian was seriously injured and four Israelis were lightly injured when their two cars collided. The Red Crescent evacuated the injured. Details surrounding the incident were unclear. Meanwhile, a 14-year old girl was critically injured in Shfaram when an 18-year-old driver without a license hit her while she was crossing the street. A Magen David Adom (MDA) team evacuated her to Rambam Hospital in Haifa. Hospital officials were pessimistic about the girl's chances of survival. Galilee Police was investigating the incident. Overnight Wednesday, a 50-year-old man was killed in an accident on Route 6, near Hadera. The man was killed after he crashed his car into a truck that had stopped on the side of the road. The MDA team that had been summoned pronounced him dead at the scene. Rescue forces spent an extended period of time extracting the man's body from his vehicle, which had been completely destroyed. An initial investigation into the incident found that the truck driver had suspected his load was coming loose, and stopped the truck to tighten it. The driver of the car apparently stopped short of the stationary truck, lost control for an unexplained reason, swerved from his lane and finally crashed into the back of the vehicle.
