Israeli highways were the scene of yet another bloody weekend, with four people killed in traffic accidents in the past 24 hours. One person was killed in the Galilee overnight Friday when his car overturned into a ditch. The man was evacuated to a nearby hospital in Tiberias, but later died of his wounds. Earlier, a mother was killed and her two children seriously injured when their car collided head on with an oncoming vehicle near Beit Shemesh. Two other passengers in the car were moderately injured in the accident. A large number of Magen David Adom staff who arrived at the scene evacuated the wounded to Hadassa Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. Police have begun investigating the incident. On Friday afternoon, a 68-year-old pedestrian who was navigating between two parked cars in Haifa, was seriously wounded after being hit by a passing vehicle. He was evacuated to Rambam Hospital. Also on Friday afternoon, two children, ages 8 and 10, were lightly wounded when their school bus hit a bus stop. On Friday morning, a mother and her two-year-old daughter were killed in a two-car collision in Jerusalem. The father, who was also in the car at the time, was evacuated to a nearby hospital, and was listed in serious condition.
