Fraud Police thwart $1.5m fraudulent land sale

The northern branch of the Israel Police's Fraud Squad revealed on Sunday that they had narrowly averted a serious case of fraudulent land sales valued at $1.5 million. The property in question, located near Herzliya, is owned by a Swiss resident who was not informed of the deal. Fraud Squad detectives concentrated their investigative efforts in Netanya, arresting a 45-year-old woman and three others. The woman, a resident of Ein Hod, admitted to carrying out transactions while pretending to be the Swiss resident. Police suspect that senior figures in organized crime were also involved in the attempted transaction, which was stopped before it was completed.
