Galilee: 2 held for cutting down protected trees

Police arrested two 20-year-old Beit Jan residents on Saturday on suspicion that they cut down olive and other trees in the Har Meron Nature Reserve in the Upper Galilee. The remains of the trees were discovered in the suspects' vehicle. The two confessed to police, who took them in for questioning. The arrest came following complaints filed by Northern District inspectors of the Nature and Parks Authority.
