The government agreed on Tuesday to pay NIS 2 million to 28 Palestinians arrested by security forces at the beginning of the first Intifada.
The Palestinians first filed for compensation for alleged physical and mental harm over 10 years ago, Israel Radio reported.
While Israel has never stated that it acknowledged the claim, the Justice Ministry explained, the state has agreed to a deal in order to save the cost of a trial.
