Gov't establishes team to fight organized crime

Senior law enforcement and justice officials met on Sunday afternoon in order to establish a team that would develop a joint strategy for fighting organized crime in Israel. Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz told meeting attendees that the purpose of the team was "to turn the operations of the various law enforcement branches into a united, strong and effective fist." Mazuz, State Attorney Eran Shendar, Police chief Insp.-Gen. Moshe Karadi, Tax Authority head Moshe Peri and Israel Securities Authority Chairman Jackie Matza attended the meeting.
