"The investigation the IDF carried out following the announcement by an unrecognized Syrian organization about an Israeli soldier they are holding showed that the organization has, in fact, existed for some eight months," Col. (res.) Shimon Mizrahi, attorney for the family of missing IDF soldier Guy Hever, said Wednesday morning.
In an interview with Army Radio, Mizrahi said that according to the investigation conducted Tuesday evening, the group, which calls itself "The Resistance Committees for the Release of the Golan Heights," has been known to exist since June 2006.
"There is a proven fact, and now we need to start to act," he said, urging the government to check the new information without hesitation in order to track down Hever, who went missing 10 years ago in the Golan Heights.
